"Parable of the Hidden Treasure" series depicts the artist's journey to rediscover lost culture in the mist. Based on the costumes of Pulan in the Ali region of Tibet, these rock color paintings transport viewers into an ancient and splendid civilization. As carriers of culture, these costumes embody the artist's longing for ancient Chinese civilization and her hope for its inheritance.
This series of six consecutive paintings primarily features peacock-like costumes and accessories from Pulan, with an attempt to inject notable elements of Ali civilization into the internal structure. I strive to capture the texture of ancient murals in the Ali region and depict women dancing freely in ancient Pulan costumes. They are unrestrained yet restrained, truly captivating. The costumes of the women in the paintings conceal fragments of civilization embedded by the artist, and "quest" also implies a slight expectation for the viewers to pause and feel the charm of her slowly approaching us from ancient times.
